Harmony Homes LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Human Resources Specialist to manage the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the HR department. This role is crucial for supporting our rapidly growing team of real estate agents, technology staff, and remote employees, ensuring compliance, excellent employee relations, and efficient HR processes in a digital-first environment.
Recruitment Coordination: Assist the hiring manager with job posting maintenance, candidate screening, interview scheduling (using virtual meeting platforms), and candidate communication.
Agent/Employee Onboarding: Execute the full remote onboarding process, including drafting and sending offer letters/agent contracts, coordinating background checks, verifying licenses, and scheduling virtual new-hire orientations.
New Hire Documentation: Ensure all necessary new hire, I-9, and benefits enrollment paperwork is completed accurately and digitally filed in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
HRIS Management: Maintain and update all employee and agent records in the HRIS/HR software, ensuring data integrity for job changes, compensation, benefits, and contact information.
Payroll Support: Act as a liaison to the payroll department, processing personnel changes (e.g., status, terminations, salary adjustments) and assisting employees with general payroll and tax inquiries.
Compliance: Monitor and ensure company compliance with all relevant federal and Texas State employment laws (e.g., FMLA, FLSA), mandatory trainings, and industry-specific regulations for real estate agents.
Policy Implementation: Assist in communicating, interpreting, and implementing company policies and procedures across the fully distributed workforce.
Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for routine HR-related questions from employees and agents regarding benefits, policies, time off, and HR systems, providing timely and professional remote support.
Performance Management: Coordinate the logistics for the remote performance review cycle, ensuring managers and employees complete documentation on time.
Virtual Engagement: Assist in developing and implementing virtual employee engagement activities, remote team-building initiatives, and recognition programs to foster a positive company culture.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR support or HR coordinator role.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic federal and Texas employment law.
Proven proficiency with HRIS/HR software (e.g., Workday, BambooHR, ADP, or similar) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Exceptional organizational skills, strict attention to detail, and a commitment to handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Experience supporting a remote or distributed workforce in the real estate, brokerage, or technology industry.
Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
Experience with multi-state employment/agent compliance is a strong asset.
